Woochi [Jeon Woochi : The Taoist Wizard] (2009) - South Korea

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1274293/

Summary & Synopsis

The third film from director Choi Dong-hoon (the other two being THE BIG SWINDLE and TAZZA), JEON WOO CHI: THE TAOIST MONK is a big budget Korean superhero flick. Sound interesting? Well, it gets better – JEON WOO CHI stars Gang Dong-won (DUELIST and the forthcoming Song Kang-ho flick SECRET REUNION) as a ‘rascal wizard’ who has been frozen into a painting for 500 years only to be released when three taoist wizards need help in finding half of the ‘Pipe of Prophecy’ from a bunch of goblins in modern day Korea. Okay, so that bit sounds like we’ve seen it all before, but this is the part that sounds like fun (taken from the press release): ‘What began as a hunt for goblins slowly turns into
Jeon Woo Chi’s personal sightseeing expedition of the modern day world
‘. Okay – so it could be very ICEMAN COMETH (the Yuen Biao flick) mixed with ARAHAN, but with a supporting cast that includes Baek Yoon-sik, Baek Do-bin (Yoon-sik’s son incidentally) and Yeom Jung-ah, JEON WOO CHI could be alot of CGI fun.
